Join us for the Society's annual Open Day, Buckinghamshire's major family history event. Our Buckinghamshire names database is always a major attraction, containing well over five million surname entries taken from the county's parish registers, wills, census returns and many lesser-known documents. The database is fully searchable - if there's an ancestor you can't find, come along and let us help you track him or her down (there will be a small charge for searches).

Our parish register transcripts and other publications will be on sale, and there will be lots of help and advice available from friendly, experienced family historians, with an introductory talk given for those new to family history.

Local history was again prominent at last year's Open Day, with museums and local history groups exhibiting alongside family history societies from around the country, archives and the customary range of suppliers of maps, books, software, archival materials and other services. We intend to continue this trend in 2019.

Entry is free, with free parking at the venue. In additon to tea, coffee and light snacks, hot food such as burgers and hot dogs will be available from a mobile caterer. Come and make a day of it.
